Loch Scavaig, Skye (Ref 0410)
© Matt Johnston

The great Cuillin mountain range rises high above Loch Scavaig on the west coast of the Isle of Skye. The loch, known for sudden, violent storms, has long been a great tourist attraction, with the unpredictable weather only adding to the atmosphere. This photograph, taken on a typical day shows low cloud on Gars-bheinn, 910 m, in the foreground, and Sgurr Dubh Mor, 944 m, centre back.
